A few weeks ago (I'm so behind on blog posts), Mykenzi learned to tie her shoes! Big exciting stuff to us! It was actually part of her kindergarten curriculum that she start working on learning to tie her shoes, and with her Daddy's help, she did. It took about a week to catch on, and she didn't try it every day. Both Mykenzi and Camden needed new shoes, so while at the shoe store (Saxon's, awesome shoe store), Jonmark and I decided to get her shoes with laces instead of velcro in order to further encourage her to learn to tie her shoes (and so she'd have shoes her size to practice on, which we thought might help the process along). She was not happy with our decision, and refused to try to tie them in the shoe store until the shoe sales lady tried to show her another way. She found a private place to try it out, but still, she got frustrated and gave up. The next day she didn't even touch her shoes, but the following day when we were getting ready to go out, we told her to put her shoes on, and while we were getting the boys ready she came running across the house excited and screaming that she did it!

When taking a picture of Mykenzi's shoes after the first time she tied them herself, Camden decided he wanted to take a picture too!

Before leaving, the kids enjoyed playing outside with the big bubble wand that Mykenzi got for her birthday. While Mykenzi made bubbles, Camden chased after them, trying to catch them or smash them to the ground.
