Mykenzi's first memorable trip to the fair, and Camden's
first ever. Mykenzi got to do many things here, such as
ride kiddie rides for the first time at all, including a
small roller coaster, ride a pony, watch racing pigs,
eat German roasted nuts (out of Tupelo, MS by the way),
sit in a State Police car, pet piglets and a 4 day old
duckling (the duckling picture was too blury), see goats,
sheep, cows, and horses, as well as a 2 day old calf
that didn't quite know how to use her legs yet, fish for the
first time (she didn't really catch one, but was handed a rod with
a fish already hooked and proceeded to pull it out of the water,
very exciting, but the picture was blury), and she ate her first
funnel cake. Camden was awake for most of the time at the fair,
and mainly took in the new sights and smells.
Mykenzi chose the bouncer as her first activity.
go all the way when she saw the...
Dragon Roller Coaster, which she loved! One big hill and aquick turn, and she was cracking up laughing!
Also fun, but Mykenzi appears to like fast rides with quick jolts.
She was always a dare devil, even at Camden's age.
going around in circle, but I guess they're mimicking swimming
and quickly bumped up and down as they rode around in circles.
This also had her cracking up laughing.
there was a strange attendant taunting her on this one,
so she was eager to get off and move on.
both of which made the car fishtail and had all the
mini drivers laughing uncontrollably, as well as all the
spectating parents. Much like at all the rides, when the
children were laughing and having fun, the parents were
laughing much harder.
on an oval track, Mykenzi was thrilled to be on a train.
It didn't matter that it didn't go fast or that she didn't
get to ride in the engine where she could ring the bell,
she still enjoyed the ride.
liked flying in the air above Mommy, Daddy, and Camden.
Mykenzi has seen many jet skis racing along the river during
our regular rides and walks around the point. She has become
fascinated at jet ski sightings so it was neat that there was a ride
there giving her the perfect opportunity to pretend she was
bouncing on the waves in a jet ski on the river.
there on Daddy's knee. He was instructed to help
her clap during the introduction of the pigs.
that he might be scared at the loud noises of all the people
cheering on the pigs, but he didn't mind at all.
This video was meant to capture Mykenzi's excitement
during the pig races. However, what you hear is how
crazy people go over watching any sort of competition.
Checking out a real State Police car. We told her the backseat
was the wrong place to be, but a State Trooper was standing
next to the front door explaining what all of the controls were
for, and Mykenzi doesn't get too close to strangers.
Checking out the little chicks. We even saw some
hatching from their eggs.
Riding a submarine. She started winding down here.
Going through a fun house with the ultimate reward,
a huge slide at the end.
funnel cake a huge gust of wind came along blowing the
plate up in my face and showering Camden and I in
powdered sugar. You can see it on me, but you can't see
how it covered his face in sweet little white specks.
This was the end of the fair for us, but it marks the beginning
of our favorite time of year. There is so much more to come on this
blog, with outdoor pictures of the kids with beautiful Fall foliage,
the Fall Festival/parade, Mykenzi's field trip to the pumpkin
patch, possibly our trip to another pumpkin patch, Halloween,
Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Of course those will all be
firsts for Camden, which will definitely be captured and blogged.
Along with the first holidays will be his adventures in learning to
eat rice cereal, vegetables, and fruit. For now the next milestone
is sure to be sitting up on his own, which he was doing very well
this morning before falling foward to eat his toes, but I forgot my
camera. Soon we'll give rice cereal a try, but his pediatrician has
suggested that we wait until he eats more during the day. I'm trying
to hold out, but really, what can it hurt? He needs to learn to
eat, and I just want to give him a little each day. The only problem I
see may be that he might want to eat that instead of the bottle,
and I'd have to confess my introduction of cereal to the pediatrician.
