Outside Again!

We have been enjoying the nice weather lately, and going outside after dinner every evening. Mykenzi has always been an outdoor girl, but until this spring Camden hadn't really spent much time outside (except for last summer which he pretty much slept through) and so far he's loving it. There are times when we're out there that I have to bring him in with me, a diaper change or whatever, and he screams when we come in the door.

Camden follows his big sister everywhere! (When she's not dragging him along.)

Camden is a master climber and loves to climb the steps on the front porch, into chairs inside the house, on top of Mykenzi's picnic table in the house, onto the couch, and he never falls. He does however get to the top and scream for you to come get him, except when he climbs the front porch steps because then he usually just walks back and forth across the porch looking for things to play with. This particular time he was watching Mykenzi draw with chalk.

We have a huge asphalt driveway for her to use as a canvas, but she chose the front porch? I'm not really sure why, but she declined my requests to draw on the sidewalk or driveway like we had done the night before and chose the porch instead.

Mykenzi said they were going for a walk together.

Visiting Kelly and Trenton

A few weeks later we returned to Williamsburg to visit Kelly and Trenton, who were there for a week. We hadn't seen them since the boys were almost 3 months old.
I wanted to get pictures of them playing together, but that's tough to do when they're both always on the move!

Reading Trenton's book together before bedtime.

Everyone playing with toys the next morning.

We had a great visit, playing with with toys and shopping with Kelly and Trenton, and we can't wait to see them again, but hopefully next time we'll be traveling to MS to see the Carters! We miss you guys and can't wait to get together again!

Our Great Wolf Lodge Vacation

We took a mini vacation to the Great Wolf Lodge during the first week of April for 3 nights, and we all had a wonderful time. It was a much needed break from daily life, and it was great to see Mykenzi and Camden have so much fun. Camden is always a trooper, going along with whatever we do without much fuss, and Mykenzi enjoyed everything we did together as well.

Dressed in her new bathing suit, more than ready for the waterpark!

Camden has no idea what's going on (first time in the water besides a bath), but after a couple of trips to the waterpark he started to get excited whenever I asked him to come get his bathing suit on.

Mykenzi loves to pose with Camden whenever the camera is out!

Looking up at daddy as if he's a little unsure.

Mykenzi loves to go down the big slides with us, so we took turns going with her, but she also surprised us by saying she would be done after several trips down the slides and wanted to go play with Camden in the kiddie area.

He's definitely a water-lover!

Giving him kisses - isn't she always?

We even had fun playing in the water shooting out of the floor. You have to be careful where you step though because you can spray water into other people's faces, like I accidentally did to one dressed mom with her glasses on while I was talking to her about her little boy that Camden was intrigued by.

We even had fun just hanging out in the room at night, and luckily with all the activity it never took long for them to fall asleep.

Camden doesn't know how to play the QuestMaster game with Mykenzi's wand, so he just decided to eat it while she was busy coloring her Great Wolf Lodge t-shirt.

Daddy suprised Mykenzi with a Pup Pass which gave us lots of incentives and free options, one of which was an activity in this kids club and she chose to color a free t-shirt.

One of our favorite things to do outside of the waterpark was the arcade. I never cared much for places like this when I was young, but Jonmark said he used to love arcades. Mykenzi received free tokens with her Pup Pass so we had to spend some time there, but found that we also enjoyed winning tickets for her. She loved the Deal or No Deal game! At the end she won over 700 tickets so she took home a mini basketball (of everything there that she could get that was the nicest) and a few pieces of candy.

We also enjoyed Howl In One putt putting at the resort, which was Mykenzi's first time playing.

Camden took a ride on Daddy, and it was so cute the way he'd look down each time Jonmark would putt, and once he hit the ball Camden would turn his head to the side just like Jonmark to watch the ball.

Putt Putt wore Camden out!

Mykenzi's First Time Bowling and Camden's First Pair of Shoes

Mykenzi loves to bowl on the Nintendo Wii, so a few weeks ago we took her bowling so she could try the real thing. She loved it, and we all had a great time. Here's she's waiting anxiously to see how many pins she knocked down.

Camden also got his first pair of shoes the same day. He wasn't worried about his new shoes here. He was more interested in bowling himself.

Half way through the game we found this ramp (instead of her rolling the bowl between her legs like she was originally doing), and it really improved her game, so much that she beat me and probably would have beat Jonmark if she'd had it for the first half.

I know these pictures are dark, but you can see her excitement here so I love this picture.

If you can't bowl with'em, have a bottle and play with your new shoes!
